The fence is easy to install, doesnt bother the cats entering or leaving the litterbox, and it prevents much of the litter scattering.
I have recently purchased M1 and it's honestly my most totally worth it purchase of the year by far! The problem was with two out of the three cats. They defecated outside the machine while sitting in. I was quite quick to purchase when I found out there was a guard. To be honest this could be already included day 1, It's actually pretty useful. The only hard part was that I had to drill the provided screws, because they were not any predrilled? Maybe I didn't buy the correct model though other than that it works and it's steady. If you are fluent with 3d printing though maybe it's worth it to DIY it, it's pretty expensive just for a bit of plastic. But it totally works and solved my problem.
This has been a game changer! Less litter is in the floor now which makes me happy! Easy to install!

The M1 Fence I received is not for my M1 model. As you can see, I cannot install it as the holes for the screws on the part do not align with the holes on my Neakasa M1. Please resend a new one that fits my M1 or proceed with reimbursement. Thanks in advance for your reply. Kind regards Pascal Longlade MD
This thing is fantastic! My 2 kitties are insane diggers & there would be more litter OUTSIDE the box then in. The photo is JUST AFTER a clean cycle (both cats went multiple times & it's now end of day) and ZERO litter outside. The cats quickly acclimated to climbing over it, but the 6" tall step I have helps with that. Don't bother with the screws or included adhesive, I used Gorilla spray adhesive & it will not budge - even after I took it apart for a deep clean. Definitely recommend!!
I absolutely love it, one of my cats would scoop litter out of the front constantly. Having this has saved me so much time.
I’ve had good luck with two of these. I bought three one for each litter box in various locations. Unfortunately, one already fell off from the weight of the cat, pushing on it. I guess I’ll try to get a stronger adhesive and remount it.
The adhesive is not helping, so I put screws.
This thing contains the litter!! This is several days since I added the guard and usually there would be a huge pile of litter right outside of the box. But now it is well contained! Definitely means there’s been less tracking around the house too. Thank you for this very helpful addition!
I bought this to reduce the splatter and drop on the front of the litter box and it has definitely served its purpose. Not a single drip since installing. However, the additional height makes it more difficult for my cats to get in. It took them a minute to get used to it. The installation was also super easy. Just a few screws and set to go!
It would not scew in Litterbox. There are no predrilled holes in the litterbox.
Calie still pees above the guard every once in awhile but it’s better
LIFE CHANGING! My cat cannot scratch or toss the litter out anymore! Its made a huge difference in keeping the litter off the floor! 10 out 0f 10!!!!!

I have found all the “fixes” as well as cleaning the unit very difficult involving removing and then replacing multiple screws and parts. As this has to be done at floor level, seated on the floor, it is difficult for elderly folks. I wish that the unit could be easily to work on, then I would love it better.

Was not properly packed for shipping. It came in a flimsy box that was torn on one side so the screws for it are missing. The thickness of the cardboard for the box it came in are what you'd expect for some to be put on the shelf at a store not for shipping. Additionally there are no screw holes on my M1 Plus that line up with where the fence goes. I feel like this should be a big cause for concern since if you ever need to remove the fence (say your cat gets older and has trouble getting in with it) you now have holes where litter and other things can get trapped in. Guess I got to make a trip to the hardware store to buy screw since clearly Neakasa has no clue how to ship / protect things in shipping outside of the M1 itself.
Just as expected and shipping was fast!
The installation instructions were a little confusing, but we figured it out in the end. We love this fence! Our cats are a little… aggressive with their digging sometimes, and it’s fantastic to be able to mitigate the amount of litter that gets thrown out onto the floor as a result. We also really appreciate that this accessory is sold at a reasonable price.
This made all the difference. Before using the fence my cats had as much litter on the floor as in the box - literally. Now it's much neater - just a few pebbles escape. The fence should be standard equipment on the M1.

Two of our four cats were continuously kicking litter out of the box. In the two weeks since the fence arrived, zero litter has been kicked out! It was easy to install and has so far proved very effective.
Perfect! Keeps the area around the litter box much cleaner. I have a digger and she’d have half of the litter on the floor. Not any more. All is well. I did drill pilot holes and use the screws to secure it after I held in place with the included tape.
