Caring for your cat's needs includes more than just feeding and playtime; it also involves maintaining a clean and hygienic space for them to answer nature's call. Self cleaning cat litter boxes are a fantastic innovation that can make life easier for both you and your feline friend. However, like any appliance, they require regular maintenance to function effectively. Here are essential tips to ensure your automatic litter box is always in top shape.
Adding Cat Litter
• When the cat litter level is below 60%, it's time to add some cat litter. Be cautious not to exceed the 100% marking line when adding litter. (The machine can automatically detect when you add cat litter and when the cat enters the litter box).
• Approximately 1 minutes after adding cat litter, the system will automatically level the litter and update the litter level.
• If you change the type of the cat litter, it may cause inaccuracies in the litter level detection. In such cases, recalibration is necessary. [After pouring in the cat litter, you can use the “Level” button to flatten the litter instantly. Alternatively, you can wait about one minute for the machine to automatically perform the leveling process.]
Waste Bin Cleaning and Maintenance
1. Clean waste bin
2. Set new trash bag
If the red light of the “Empty” button flashes, it is because the undulating part of the trash bag blocks the internal infrared sensor. Please arrange the trash bag and put it in.
1. Empty the waste bin every 7 to 10 days for a cat, and no longer than 14 days. When the temperature is high in summer, empty it 7 days to prevent the breeding of flies.
2. The waste bin can accumulate strong odors because of long-term storage of foul-smelling materials. You can pull it out and rinse it with water, then let it dry before placing a new trash bag. We recommend cleaning it once every 1-2 months.
Emptying Cat Litter
1. Long press the “Empty” button for 3 seconds to dump all the cat litter.
2. It is recommended to empty all the cat litter and clean the litter box and waste bin once a month to reduce odor buildup in the litter chamber.
3. Before using the “Empty” button, please open the waste bin and check to make sure there is enough remaining space in the waste bin. Otherwise, it may exceed the capacity of the waste bin and the door may be stuck. (If it gets blocked, please stay calm. Slowly pull out the waste bin, move it back and forth 4-5 times to level the litter, then slowly pull out the waste bin again).
Litter Chamber Cleaning
Before cleaning the litter chamber, please unplug the power. (Once powered off, there is no need to reconnect to WIFI when powering on again.)
1. After emptying all the cat litter, unlock covers on both sides of the litter chamber and pull them outward to remove the litter chamber.
2. You can rinse the litter chamber with water or use a brush to clean it. After rinsing, make sure to keep the opening facing upwards and place it in a well-ventilated area to dry before putting it back for use.
Note: Avoid drying it with the opening facing downwards, as it may cause water to accumulate inside the gaps.
Main Body Cleaning
• Do not wash the body of the machine directly with water.
• You can use a damp cloth to wipe off dirt and dust from the main body.
• Avoid applying force to the chamber door area to prevent deformation, which may hinder normal opening and closing.
Conclusion
An automatic cat litter box is a convenient tool for pet parents, but it doesn’t eliminate the need for regular maintenance. By following these tips, you can ensure that your device remains clean, efficient, and durable, making your life easier and keeping your cat happy and healthy. Regular upkeep not only prolongs the life of the litter box but also ensures a hygienic environment for your beloved pet.
