How to Celebrate the National Dog Week?

Have you heard the topic of National Dog Week a lot lately? So what is National Dog Week? And who created it and how to celebrate it?

What is National Dog Week?

It is widely believed that the National Dog Week origin began 74 years ago with veteran dog show judge Captain Will Judy. In 1928, Will Judy, a World War I veteran and canine advocate, decided that at least a week of celebrations could honor the service and unwavering loyalty of man's best friend, dogs.

After returning from the war, Captain Judy was awarded the Silver Star and, in addition to buying and publishing Dog world magazine, founded a publishing company dedicated to canines.

But according to a ZoomRoom survey, National Dog Week didn't start with Will Judy. It was created by a group of dog lovers and athletes dedicated to a broad nationwide educational campaign to better Take care of puppies.

Beginning in 2009, National Dog Week has been held every year from September 20th to 27th to show gratitude for our furry companions.

How do you celebrate National dog week?

1. Treat Your Dog With A Big Meal

What could make a dog happier than a delicious treat? Cook a delicious meal for your dog. You can also grab a bite to eat at a pet-friendly restaurant with a cozy patio for canine customers or pack a picnic at a pet-friendly park!

2. Go Out with Your Baby Dog

If your dog loves the outdoors, take time out of the day and take a walk around the neighborhood, go to a trail or visit a park. The right amount of exercise is essential for dogs.

Lead the dog to go out for "hunting + patrol" when it wakes up and is most energetic. After doing enough exercise, it comes back home for breakfast. For the dog, after completing this series of successful tasks, you can bring it with you. The satisfaction continues to rest, and some dogs can even sleep for more than six hours.

3. Take A Nice Photo With Your Dog

It's a special day to remember; take a photo of yourself and your dog. You can invite a dedicated photographer who will be happy to capture the special day with you and your puppy. You can also capture beautiful moments with your dog yourself.

4. Grooming Your Dog

You can look for a professional pet grooming agency in your local area. Give your dog a bath, comb, and shave all-around beauty! Of course, considering this special day, maybe the appointment will wait until a month later.

If you want to avoid clutter in your home, why not try our pet grooming kits? Traditional home grooming tools bring about a lot of mess and hair. But our P1 Pro grooming kit with vacuum function collects 99% of pet hair into a vacuum container while trimming and brushing hair, which can keep your home clean, and there's no more tangled hair and piles of fur spreading all over the house.

5. Donate to Your Local Animal Shelter

Bring joy to homeless dogs by volunteering at a nearby animal shelter, donating much-needed items, funds, or your time. If your dog agrees and you also have a manager to take care of you, you can adopt a stray dog and give it a warm home!

Considering that many dog owners have financial reasons, it may be difficult to keep a pet or provide adequate nursing and medical care, according to The Dog Daily advice. You might consider holding a dog walk to raise funds for your local veterinary clinic to help dog owners in need pay for their medical bills.

6. Organize A Meetup at Your Llocal Dog Park

Encourage dog lovers to get involved and organize their events or support those already in place, including donations and speaking engagements with local veterinarians. Encourage dog lovers to get involved and organize their events or support those already in place, including donations and speaking engagements with local veterinarians. I think a speech about dog knowledge is very necessary, maybe many people don't know some little knowledge that can make pets healthier.

7. Sign up to Be A Volunteer

You don't have to live with a dog to participate in this wonderful day. You must sign up for foster care or volunteer at your local stray dog shelter. Let these stray animals feel the warmth of their families.
