Being a new cat parent, i was overloaded with infos on getting the house ready for the addition of a new family member. Researching has taken almost all of my bed time until i chanced upon Neakasa M1’s review. Having seeing it in a physical store and watching video reviews, i knew i had to get one. And truly it did not disappoint~! My 5 month old kitten was so intrigued when i set it up and she started to use it with ease. It was so safe that even when thr machine was doing the smart clean up, my kitten climb on it out of curiosity and the machine would automatically stop and resume after my kitten has left. There were significantly less odours as well. And of course, as a busy ( LAZY ) parent, i do not have to scoop out the clumps as the M1 would dump them into the BIG waste tray. Neakasa M1 is definitely a game changer in cat parenting~!
Context. We have 4 fussy cats and a year ago we bought a Litter Robot 4 to reduce the work involved in keeping their toilets clean. The Litter Robot is a good product and has saved us a lot of work but it is hard to deep clean because of exposed electrical parts when you take it apart. More importantly, one of our cats seems to be claustrophobic and doesn't like it so much being enclosed. So we recently bought a Neakasa to see if his problem could be solved by the open design, also because IMO you need two robots for 4 cats. The Neakasa is great and a big advance on the Litter Robot. Easy to setup, operate and clean and all 4 cats love it! I did have a worry about odour as it is open but it doesn't seem to be a problem. (you'll notice the little white box on the wall in my photo is an ionic odour remover, which helps). The only minor irritation I have is the waste bags are a little bit fiddly to attach compared with the Litter Robot. The app is also great, with a nice balance between too little and too much information, and it seems to detect the cat's weight well, so I've worked out who is who, which I never really managed with the Litter Robot. One improvement would be a measure of how full the waste bag is, since we like to change them before they get completely full because of our fussy cats! In conclusion, for me the Neakasa is the best robot on the market at present and when our Litter Robot dies we'll likely replace it with a second Neakasa.
First of all, it’s important to mention that the experience with an automatic cat toilet largely depends on the cat litter used. After trying various options and conducting thorough research, I settled on Everclean's bentonite cat litter. It works wonders for odor control and clumps very strongly, so that feces and urine no longer stick. This is a very important aspect. If the feces were to stick, it would adhere to the discharge edges. This would be a nightmare for both humans and cats: theoretically, you would have to clean the toilet after each self-cleaning to prevent your cat from having to use a dirty environment. Now to my experience with the device. The advantages: Large capacity and deep fill tray for the cat litter. Many other automatic cat toilets offer significantly less space for litter, which means that urine and feces often penetrate and stick to the canvas. The litter then doesn’t get properly cleaned, as the waste material sticks to the canvas and is merely covered with new litter after each self-cleaning. Large and easy drain for the dirty litter. The drain is generously sized, so clumps of any size are disposed of with ease. The waste bag is easy to replace, and there’s even a method to change the bag that minimizes odor nuisance. The M1's discharge edge directs the clumps away without leaving any residue. With most drum toilets from other manufacturers, there are always traces of waste (feces) left behind, requiring regular cleaning. In closed drums, this is additionally unpleasant for both cat and human, as the smell in the drum can become unbearable. The open design versus the closed drum really makes a big difference: my cats accepted the device from day one and immediately began using it. Minimal maintenance required: aside from some litter dust, the toilet and litter are fresh and ready for the next use after each self-cleaning. This way, my cats always have a clean and fresh toilet available. Price: Compared to the Litter-Robot 4, you get noticeably more convenience for your money here. 1And of course, it’s safe, and the app developed by Neakasa is a handy tool for monitoring the health of your cats. The app also shows how much litter is left and allows you to set reminders that help plan maintenance tasks (e.g., thorough cleaning, changing the waste bag, etc.). The M1 exceeds my expectations and deserves a full 5 stars from me! What an amazing device! Already indispensable for both my cats and myself. Many thanks to the manufacturers. You have truly revolutionized the world of automatic cat toilets!
Decided to go with the Neakasa M1 as I have 3 senior cats ages 12-15 and needed one open enough to fit my largest cat who is 19lbs. Also didn't want a closed automatic litter box as they aren't fond of closed boxes. It did take about a week for all 3 to get comfortable using the box. I've had it for 2 months now and both the cats and I love it. I see many people online mention the height of the box and that was one of my concerns before purchasing. My smallest cat is 9lbs and has very short legs, so I did put a collapsible stool in front of it to make it easier for her to get in and out. She only uses this box now! The box is very quiet when running to clean itself and is very easy to take apart for cleaning the entire box when needed. One thing I will advise is don't use light weight litter (eg. Arm & Hammer Hardball lightweight) as it doesn't register it quite well. It kept prompting me to level it instead of auto-leveling. I switched back to our regular litter (A&H Clump & Seal) within a few days and it went back to operating as normal. Overall very happy with this purchase and plan on getting another one! I have difficulties with scooping due to health/dexterity issues so this has been a great addition to our home.
First of all, I have been looking at this NEAKASA Electronic litter box on line for a while. Until my daughter visited me and we discussed about this product. She ordered one and I waited for her to inform me, how she really loves it. That’s when I decided to order it for my cats. I ask my husband to order 2 units. Right now, I am only using one. I haven’t decided where to put the other one yet. I have 7 adult cats and 4 kittens. The litter box is so quiet and the ease of cleaning it is so quick. I love that it tells me when to change the bag. Love, love, love it.
we love the change of being scoopers to no more scooping litter! This little guy does the work for us. We have four cats, so that’s a lot of litter to clean up with the new robot doing its job. It’s made our life a lot easier. The cats have adjusted really fast to it no issues, it is a great size and it’s not too big or bulky and since we travel a lot this is a lot easier than what we used to use. Highly recommend and for a great price too.
I have three, soon to be four Savannahs!! F1HP Charlie, F2 Goise, F3 Maverick and soon F1 Ice. The TOP GUN crew!! We have 4 litter boxes in our 5000 sq ft home and this is by far their favorite!! Open lid and wide space even fits my 19 lb 8 month old baby!! Goose is in the video he is 18 lbs and he is a year old. Do yourself a favor, buy this… not the “ other guys” (we have one and it barely fits my big girl.). Less money, easy access and super easy cleaning!! I may replace all of them with these!! I have 2 M1 litter boxes and my cats love them as much as I do. Best self cleaning litterbox out there no question. I did a lot of research before I decided to purchase. Also, the only one on the market you can take apart and actually clean!!!! Game changer. My cats took to it right away. There is a manual mode if your cats are timid. I am extremely disappointed with my purchase of this automatic litter box. This was a major splurge for me, and not a purchase I made lightly. With four children and a busy household, I was hoping this product would make life easier and provide the convenience and cleanliness that was promised. Unfortunately, my experience has been the complete opposite. I have followed the recommended maintenance schedule, used the recommended litter, and done everything suggested to keep the unit functioning properly. Despite that, there is constantly poop smeared all over the back of the litter box area, and waste is frequently falling behind the unit for me to discover later. It has become extremely frustrating and honestly disgusting to deal with. One of the main reasons I invested in this product was to reduce the mess and hassle of traditional litter, but I feel like I have spent a significant amount of money only to have a bigger cleaning problem. I am incredibly disappointed because I had high hopes for this product, and I have even recommended it to others based on what I thought it would provide. Now, I feel embarrassed that I encouraged others to purchase something that has not lived up to expectations. At this point, I truly feel like this was a waste of money and that I could have purchased a less expensive product that performed better. I would appreciate someone looking into this issue and discussing what options are available to make this right.

My kitten adapted to her new litter very quickly. It’s easy to setup. Although it did take a bit before I was able to get it to connect to my WiFi connection. I love the fact that she will always have a clean litter to use.

I have a huge Mainecoon cat, he is close to 19 pounds and he poops a lot. This automatically box is a lifesaver. Since it has opened top, he can comfortably sit and use the litter and it cleans it in 10 minutes and he has place to poop more. I highly suggested to anyone who don’t want to clean litter box every day
My maine coons love it. They took to it immediately - for the first day i had the sensors off just to get them comfortable. With 2 growing maine coon kittens i have to empty it once every 6 days. I absolutely love it. Best decision ever.

What I love most is the open top- it is less intimidating to my skittish boy who doesn’t like the litter robot we have because of the covered design. It’s super quiet-this is a lovely surprise. My boys always have a fresh bowl and I never have to walk by a full litter box and cringe. Win-win!
So far so good! I've had it for a week now, and both of my cats have been sick. This was so helpful to see that they were getting enough food and water to make them use the litter box. I just emptied it for the first time, and it was very easy.

My 3 cats adopted the new box right after installing it. I used a carbon activated bentonite based litter as advised, and it has worked flawlessly ever since then, proper separation and no odors coming out from the box, good sealing. Also the box has really good sealing, not a single drop has reached the bottom of the box. The app also was a nice surprise, it worked well, good identification of the cats by weight, and, I wasn’t expecting it, it is really accurate estimating the % of remaining litter, there’s a scale inside you need to read during a few days to calibrate it, but just after a couple of refills, the estimate is really accurate. I also appreciate the open concept of the box, I come from a fully closed box, and Neakasa M1 is way easier to clean and maintain, and also more convenient for larger cats.
I am OBSESSED! This shipped so fast! I received it within a week of ordering it. I bought the Gray M1 with the matching step. The step does ship separately and mine came the day after the box was delivered. Just fyi if you order both. Also, the step has a grate top that kind of freaked my cats out, that’s why I put the mat on top of it lol. Not technically how it’s supposed to go though. The setup was SO simply, I was truly amazed! It’s so easy, intuitive, and quick! The instructions are great and the product is surprisingly not that heavy! I have three cats and I bought one. So far only two of the cats have used it but I’m loving that I can’t track when it’s getting used and customize the notifications and cleaning pattern! I will NEVER go back to a normal box.

Excellent size, quiet does the job exactly as described. Just pull out the bag no more cleaning. Made it easy for our 2 cats. The mat underneath is great if the litter falls out you just pour it back in. My cats prefer the open lid and used it straight away.
